All Spot Bitcoin ETF’s To be Approved in 3–6 Months

Ex-managing directors from BlackRock, the global asset management titan, are optimistic about the imminent approval of a US spot Bitcoin ETF.

At CCData’s Digital Asset Summit in London, Steven Schoenfield, a former BlackRock executive now leading MarketVector Indexes, predicted that the SEC might green-light a spot Bitcoin ETF within “three to six months.”

Judge Denies SEC’s Appeal Bid in Ripple Case

Judge Torres denied the SEC’s request for an interlocutory appeal in the Ripple legal battle, citing that it wouldn’t significantly progress the case’s resolution. The trial is scheduled for April 23, 2024, with pretrial filings due by year-end.

Parties are encouraged to meet for settlement talks before the final pretrial conference, in a case where the SEC alleges Ripple raised $1.3B through XRP sales, with a mixed ruling by Judge Torres in July.

Kevin McCarthy Removed as US House Speaker

US House of Reps Speaker Kevin McCarthy was removed from his leadership role on Tuesday, following a 216–210 vote that saw eight Republicans siding with Democrats.

No House speaker has previously been voted out in a no-confidence vote in the history of the house. After McCarthy’s removal, Crypto Friendly Rep. Patrick McHenry of North Carolina was named speaker pro tempore, a temporary position, adhering to the guidelines of the 118th Congress.
